Trinity 18

11 to 17 October 2020

God, our judge and saviour,
teach us to be open to your truth
and to trust in your love,
that we may live each day
with confidence
in the salvation which is given
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

On Tuesday 6 October 2020 Revd Aron Donaldson was ordained priest by the Bishop of Grantham at St John’s Church, Corby Glen.
Revd Aron celebrated his first Holy Communion as a newly ordained priest at 10.30am on Sunday 11 October 2020 at St John’s Church, Corby Glen. Towards the end of the service, just before the Blessing and Dismissal, he gave us some First Communion Thank Yous.

Every day the Corby Glen Group Virtual Church offers a service of prayer and worship in text and audio format. The recordings can be subscribed to as podcasts, or simply listened to from this website (click the service title and scroll down for the order of service).

On Sunday, the service is one of Holy Communion, and includes a sermon. On weekdays, a short service of Daily Prayer is published including a reflection on the day’s reading. The sermons and daily reflections are also available separately as well as integrated into the services.

A simple recorded service of Night Prayer (Compline) is available for listening to at the close of any day.

Towards the end of each week, a letter to parishioners is published.

To find particular services, use the Worship menu at the top of each page or the menu below. To find the standalone reflections or sermons, use the Reflections menu. Alternatively, click a date on the calendar below to list the items published that day.

Churches open for private prayer and public worship

Three of our churches open for private prayer. Burton-le-Coggles’ Church is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm, St John’s Church, Corby Glen, is open from 12 noon to 3pm on Tuesday and Friday, and St Andrew’s Church, Irnham, is open between 10am and 1pm on Wednesday and Saturday.

Revds Stephen and Aron have resumed their normal practice of saying the daily offices of Matins and Evensong in St John’s Church, Corby Glen. The services are at 8.30am and 4pm each day. If you would like to attend these services — ad hoc, or regularly — you will be very welcome.

Similarly, a midweek Holy Communion at St John’s Church, Corby Glen, is held each Wednesday at 10am. There will be no need to book for this service. Just come along and meet God in his holy house.

On Sunday 18 October 2020
there will be two services of Holy Communion,
at 9am and 10.30am,
at St Andrew’s Church, Irnham.

Please take care to follow government guidance on hygiene, face coverings and social distancing when visiting our churches – hand sanitiser is available for use before and after visiting. For more details please see Keeping Safe: Covid-19 safety and notices and posters in the churches themselves. Thank you!
