Letter to parishioners, 31 March

How we can continue to support our local Food Bank

31 March 2020

Dear Friends,

As we continue to journey through this time of distancing and isolation we have been urged not only to continue praying with and for each other, but also to remember and to support those who are in need.

In less stressful times our Churches have provided consistent and generous support for the local Foodbanks in Bourne and Grantham.  That support has been provided through the leaving of food and toiletry items at designated collection points.  Because of the closure of our Churches and other public venues this process of donation and delivery is not readily available to us.

I know that some people are setting themselves up as ‘informal’ collection centres for donations, but there is another way of giving our support to the Foodbanks.

If you would prefer you can send your donation in the form of a cheque directly to the Foodbank in Bourne.  Unfortunately, they are not able to accept direct bank transfers at the moment.

Cheques should be made payable to: Bourne Foodbank, and they should be sent to: The United Reformed Church, Spalding Road Entrance, Bourne, PE10 9LE.

Please continue to hold this valuable work in your prayers and, if you are able, please continue to support their work amongst the most vulnerable and needy in our society.

With all good wishes & every blessing to you all,

Revd Stephen
