New Year

31 December 2020
to 2 January 2021

God, bless the coming year,
and give us in your mercy
time for the task,
peace for the pathway,
wisdom for the work,
and love to the last;
for Jesus’ sake.
Amen.

Watchnight Service

A simple, reflective Watchnight Service of music and prayers will be available on this website from 6pm on New Year’s Eve, Thursday 31 December 2020. It includes recordings of the bells at St Andrew’s Abbey Church and St Chad’s Church, Sempringham, to ring out the old year and ring in the new. Press ‘play’ at 10 minutes to midnight to start 2021 with a blessing and a joyous peal of church bells.

The Story of Christmas

The Story of Christmas, a service of Lessons and Carols, is available from this website in audio and text formats.

Other services on this website relating to Christmas are listed here: Corby Glen Group Virtual Church Christmas Services

Services on this website

Every day the Corby Glen Group Virtual Church offers a service of prayer and worship in text and audio format. The recordings can be subscribed to as podcasts, or simply listened to from this website (click the service title and scroll down for the order of service).

On Sunday, the service is one of Holy Communion, and includes a sermon.

On weekdays, a short service of Daily Prayer is published including a reflection on the day’s reading. The sermons and daily reflections are also available separately as well as integrated into the services.

A simple recorded service of Night Prayer (Compline) is available for listening to at the close of any day. For anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, a Service of Light, Hope and Remembrance is available to watch at any time.

Towards the end of each week, a letter to parishioners is published.

To find particular services, use the Worship menu at the top of each page or the menu below. To find the standalone reflections or sermons, use the Reflections menu. Alternatively, click a date on the calendar below to list the items published that day.

If you know of anyone in our communities who does not have access to the internet but would like to have CDs of the services each week, please let Revd Stephen know.
